Netflix & Chill (Until Further Notice)

One of the best things about being at home so much is having the time to do things everyday life usually seems to get in the way of.

Start yoga? A new book? Clear out your wardrobe?

OR… the most popular option right now… FINALLY make a dent in your overwhelming growing “to watch” list on Netflix.

Netflix and chill with no REAL end date!

Here’s what I’ve accomplished during lockdown so far…

Spenser Confidential

This action was a super easy watch for my Mark Wahlberg loving eyes!

To unravel a twisted murder conspiracy, a former police detective returns to Boston’s criminal underworld.

Lost Girls

Based on a true story, this was a pretty heavy one and although following this ladies search is frustrating and heartbreaking, it made for a good watch.

Determined to find her missing daughter, a desperate woman launches a personal investigation that leads police to the unsolved cases of murdered sex workers.

Tiger King

I only pressed play on this one as a joke but before we knew it we were hooked! This weird and wonderful true murder series follows a tiger loving hillbilly on his crazy big cat breeding journey and we just couldn’t help but love him!

An exploration of big cat breeding and it’s bizarre underworld, populated by eccentric characters.

The Pianist

Last year my Mum took a trip to Krakow where she visited Auschwitz. As she told me of  how eerie it was walking around the former concentration camp I found myself disturbed yet intrigued to learn more of the awful history. I googled as much as I could, watched lots of documentaries and following that my brother suggested this to me. It was an intense and upsetting watch but a very powerful movie.

A Polish Jewish musician struggles to survive the destruction of the Warsaw ghetto of World War II.

Le Miserables

I honestly felt like the only person on the planet who’d never seen this movie so I thought there was no better time to finally put and end to that!

In 19th-century France, Jean Valjean, who for decades has been hunted by the ruthless policeman Javert after breaking parole, agrees to care for a factory worker’s daughter. The decision changes their lives forever.

Due Date

After such an intense few nights of watching we wanted a light fluffier watch, so decided on the comedy Due Date simply because of the cast and it served it purpose perfectly. Ps love you Robert

Due Date - 11.1
Peter Highman must reach Los Angeles to make it in time for his child’s birth. However, he is forced to travel with Ethan, who frequently lands him in trouble.

Another one I’d never seen (and felt like the only one)! I wouldn’t say it was as special to me as those who grew up watching it but I’m glad I ticked it off and it was a nice easy watch!

Cher is a rich high-school student who is learning to cope with adolescence and its problems. She also helps a new student gain popularity and in the process discovers her own feelings.

Five Feet Apart

This is another one chosen because of the cast, I LOVE Cole Sprouse and had heard good things about it. We both sympathised very much for the main characters and went to bed feeling sad so although that wasn’t fun, they obviously did a great job.

Seventeen-year-old Stella spends most of her time in the hospital as a cystic fibrosis patient. Her life is full of routines, boundaries and self-control — all of which get put to the test when she meets Will, an impossibly charming teen who has the same illness. There’s an instant flirtation, though restrictions dictate that they must maintain a safe distance between them. As their connection intensifies, so does the temptation to throw the rules out the window and embrace that attraction.

and finally…

Orange is the New Black

After years of being told I need to watch this mammoth 7 season deep series, we’ve finally committed, are currently 4 seasons in and really enjoying it!

Ten years after transporting drug money to Alex, Piper is imprisoned for the crime. The toughness of prison changes her drastically as an individual, compelling her to do the unthinkable.

Still on the bucket list is…

-Gossip Girl

-Girl Interrupted

-Uncut Gems

-And MAYBE Game of Thrones (but that’s a big maybe)

If anyone has any good suggestions please feel free to leave them in the comments below!

Happy Sunday…and Happy Netflixing! 🙂

  1. Games of thrones is brilliant, American gods is very strange but kinda funny when you get it (music really annoying in 1st season). Breaking bad.. But who hasn’t seen that. The films incude American made (good)… Bad times at the el royale (again weird but I liked it, probably says a lot about me}

    1. Ah yes, loved Breaking Bad and American Made and Bad time at the El Royal, I’m now obsessed with the song the lady sings in the mirror “This Old Heart of Mine”. Ok Game of Thrones and American Gods is on the list! Thank you!
