Despite both my parents, lots of family members and a few good friends having birthday’s since lockdown started, the one that hit hardest was Miya’s.
I’ve never had the option to see her taken away before and the idea of not seeing her on her birthday was strange…HOWEVER in reality it wasn’t as sad as I expected.
She’s such an understanding, grateful little soul and although I missed her and found myself feeling emotional looking back at old videos…she was happy as Larry!
She had no complaints about her lockdown birthday and had a lovely day.
Her birthday morning wasn’t much different to any normal birthday- balloons, breakfast in bed and all!
She went on a birthday bike ride…
Then the neighbours and Miya’s friends even arranged to stand in the street and sing to her, which made me chuckle to myself when I imagined how awkward she would be not known how to react lol (oh to be a kid on your birthday).
I asked her how is was, her reply was a solid …”good”.
I of course happily settled for a video call and sent some gifts to her in the post.
I had to try not to overly panic buy as a way to substitute not seeing her but I kept it in the self-care/positive department to make me feel better!
Here’s what I got her:

She was so appreciative for each and every thing! 🙂
Have you had a birthday during lockdown?
If so how did you spend it?
