Happy Tuesday DCD’s and good afternoon,
I hope you’re having a lovely day so far.
I’m going to step away from consuming FOOD chat today and talk about consuming INFORMATION instead.
In the same way that all the diet culture BS feels so normal to us because its EVERYWHERE, it becomes easier to practice an ANTI-diet way of life when you surround yourself with different points of view.
Including, unfollowing people on social media who make you feel shit, guilty or likely to compare yourself (if they’re a loved one maybe just mute them) and following those who nourish and bring joy to your timeline instead.
Reading books and listening to podcasts or watching youtube videos/documentaries on things you enjoy or want to learn about.
Just to gain perspective and mix up what you’re allowing your brain to devaour.
I LOVED this part of learning and it helped me in hard times to feel comforted…it just ended up being a bonus that it taught me so much.
Of course I highly recommend making sure you’re doing it for the right reasons, for enjoyment…and allowing the knowledge to grow as a by-product of that.
Incase you don’t know where to start, I am going to leave four of my favourite podcasts below.
Instead of giving you specific episodes, I have left links to the main pages and I invite you to have a little look through them to see if any jump out at you and have a little listen next time you’re doing the washing up/on a walk/ in the bath/exercising/out driving\whatever you prefer.
I find it a great way to connect to the external world by plugging into the content provided and would love to know you’re to benefit from them in the same way I did 🙂
Enjoy and please let me know if give any a listen.
